Jamie O'Hara is the Arsenal Champions League Celebration Police
Arsenal won their Champions League semi-final with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. It was a tense affair, one characteristic of the two sides. Nevertheless, Amazon Prime Video will be pleased to have shown the PSG vs Bayern Munich all-time classic PLUS an English team reaching the final over successive weeks.
The Gunners face the winners of tonight’s second leg in the final later this month. Not everyone appreciated the party they put on after booking their flights to Budpaest.
Calling the Celebration Police
Arsenal making the Champions League final has dominated sports media for the last 12 hours. It will continue to do so for some days to come. Added on to Man City’s desperate draw with Everton, it’s made for a grim couple of days Spurs fans, in the midst of a grim season. (That’s despite their excellent win over Aston Villa on Sunday.)
Unsurprisingly, former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara was in no mood to be part of the celebrations taking place down the Seven Sisters Road. The Sky Sports pundit and TALKSport presenter criticised the Gunners for the elaborate post-match celebrations. Pyrotechnics were fired amidst joyous scenes at the Emirates.
Arsenal Gunning For Champions League Silverware
The celebration police he may be, but O’Hara has a point. Yes, you must enjoy the moment, But, as Tottenham know all too well after that night in Amsterdam seven years ago, winning the semi-final doesn’t mean much if you don’t bring home the silverware.
