My name is Charlotte Henry and I’ve been a journalist covering tech, media and politics for a number of years. I also have experience in politics, campaigning and working for a think tank. You can find my byline in all sorts of publications including City AM, the Independent on Sunday (RIP) the Times Red Box, The Telegraph, The Times Literary Supplement, and more. Most recently I was on the staff of The Mac Observer, a specialist tech publication focussing on Apple. There, I launched the Media+ podcast, looking at the world of digital media.
I’m now independent and running The Addition newsletter, podcast and blog. I publish investigations, break news and give a better insight into the crossover of media, tech and culture. I hope that the information from The Addition will help you better navigate the digital world (and make sure you’re not missing out on some great shows).
I want to be able to cover big, original stories in this newsletter and that obviously requires an income. Please do take out a paid subscription to help support my work and get the most out of The Addition. If you want to check things out first, please join the free list. I’m hoping you will want to upgrade soon after!
Award Winning
My work at The Addition is already being recognised by others. It was named “Best Solo Newsletter” at the first-ever Publisher Newsletter Awards.
I was very proud of this, both because I’d only been running the newsletter for a little over a year when I won and also because the shortlist was filled with newsletter writers that I admire.
If you’re interested in getting my insights on building a newsletter please do get in touch. I’ve been on national TV, radio and done lots of speaking events too. So drop me a line if I can help you with any of that.
You can also follow me on Twitter, Threads, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
Ads and Affiliates
I like to share products that I feel passionately about. I am part of various affiliate programs which means if you buy some of the items I link to I may get paid a commission. As with subscriptions, this goes towards helping keep The Addition running, as do the display ads and affiliate ads on the site. (I try to make it so that these don’t detract too much from the reading experience.) I am very careful about only recommending products that I actually use and like.
