Apple has announced that “Killers of the Flower Moon” will become available in cinemas from October 20. Significantly it will have a wider release than was expected, appearing in cinemas around the world. It is also being digitally remastered for the IMAX experience. It will be on Apple TV+ after its theatrical run, which is being in collaboration with Paramount Pictures.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Goldstone. Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion and Tantoo Cardinal are also key members of the cast in the Martin Scorsese film.
Based on the book of the same name by David Grann, it focuses on a series of murders of members of the Osage Nation. This spate of horrific crimes was known as Reign of Terror.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” has been much hyped and Apple really does need it to be a success. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. The reviews generally seem to have been pretty good.
Apple also released some new key art for the movie, which you can see above. You can watch the trailer here.
There are set to be some other major releases on Apple TV+ in the near future. Perhaps top of the piles is the third season of “The Morning Show”. That will premiere on September 13. A new trailer was released last week:
