Hadley Freeman is leaving the Guardian for The Sunday Times, where she will write a weekly column as well as other features. She has been on the Guardian for 22 years.

Guardian editor Katharine Viner told Press Gazette:

She is a wonderful writer and has been a fantastic Guardian colleague for many years. We wish her all the best.”

The move is a significant one in the media world, not least due to Freeman’s long association with one outlet. She is set to depart the Guardian at the end of next month, beginning at The Sunday Times in the new year. The columnist also contributes regularly to the Jewish Chronicle

Parent company News UK says 15.9 million read The Times and The Sunday Times each month and boast 399,000 digital subscribers.
