Women’s Euro 2025 starts today. As I wrote last week, it’s a huge moment for coverage of female football and engagement in the game more widely. The Lionesses will be desperate to retain their title, but will undoubtedly face stiff competition, not least because they are in a group with France, the Netherlands and Wales. Germany are another side to keep an eye on.
I’m thrilled to say that I’ll be covering the tournament The Addition way. That is, covering all the the stories where culture, media and sport meet. I’ll be predominantly doing this via a live blog, thanks to the support of Tickaroo. Their Live Blog tools, including live sports data, enhance coverage of any sport. You can find out more about it all here. I’ll be using their software to share the scores and key moments from matches, as well as any excitement off the pitch.
Do check both things out and be sure to get in touch with Tickaroo team to test out their product.
Euro 2025 Preview
There is no doub that Sarina Wiegman’s side have had something of an overhaul since they lifted this trophy three years ago. Mary Earps, Rachel Daly and Fran Kirby have all retired from international since that famous evening at Wembley. Millie Bright, who captained the Lionesses at the 2023 World Cup, withdrew herself from selection. Her partnership with Leah Williamson at the heart of the defence was crucial at the last Euros.
World Champions Spain are always a side to watch. Double Balon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati has returned to the squad having been treated for viral meningitis. Germany and the Netherlands will put up a strong showing. You just never know which France team will show up. Wales are set to make history, appearing at a major tournament for the first time.
Thanks Tickaroo – Euro 2025 – here we go!
