Goalkeepers Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson and James Trafford are going named in the England World Cup reveal video.
The players involved might be a bit controversial, but the England World Cup squad announcement video is undoubtedly brilliant. Featuring the iconic Beatles’ song “Come Together”, some clever animation shows the names of all 26 players on the squad to the US, Canada and Mexico.
The reveal happens as a man in England shirt jogs along the street, meeting others on his way. No player, not even captain Harry Kane, appears in the two-minute long clip. Nor does manager Thomas Tuchel.
I love this video. It’s artistic, clever and a bit of fun, too. The irony is that, despite the soundtrack from an iconic Merseyside band, there is not one Liverpool player in Thomas Tuchel’s selection. It is the first this is the case since 1986.
