Some 20 years ago, viewers of what was then called BBC News 24 witnessed one of the most (in)famous moments in the outlet’s, indeed British TV history. A man called Guy was introduced by the host, but it quickly became apparent he was not meant to be there at all.
Guy Goma was at the BBC for job interview. Instead, he ended up on air. He was, to coin a phrase, the wrong guy.
Now the producer behind that legendary mistake has outed themselves. Elliot Gotkine joins Charlotte Henry to discuss what happened that day, and the impact it had on the lives of both men involved.
